information.
Option 0 includes all sub-units.
Option 1 excludes the RBS Data Converter (CD4S/23) for
applications where RBS update is not required.
Option 2 excludes the RBS Data Converter and the NICAM Data
Splitter (CD4S/18) for applications where only
opt-out or default information is required. Power
requirements +5 V, 3 A; !12 V, 0.15 A. Termination Panel
PA20/37. BBC Chassis code: Designed to fit into half a 4U
19" rack.
Sub-units: MD2/1, CD4S/22, CD4S/23, CD4S/18,
PA20/37. D & ED(A) 1986.
Radio Data Assembler. This forms part of the RDS
Transmitter equipment. It accepts update data from a
number of sources and converts this into a Radio Data
bitstream as defined in EBU Spec. No. 3244-E. Power
requirements 5 V, 0.5 A. Termination panel: PA20/37. BBC
chassis 4U Unsupported Card. Chassis Extender CH4/5.
Parent equipment CD4L/21. D&ED(A) 1986. TM A.I030(87).
RBS Data Converter. This unit accepts a feed of stereo
multiplex signal complete with RDS signalling, usually from
an RBS receiver. It then demodulates the RDS information
and converts this into a data format suitable for feeding
the RDS Data Assembler. Power requirements 5 V, 0.5 A.
Termination panel PA20/37.
BBC chassis 4U Unsupported
Card. Chassis Extender CH4/5. Parent equipment CD4L/21.
D & E D(A) 1986.
AES/EBU Bitstream Regenerator. This equipment will
regenerate an AES/EBU 48 kHz sampling digital audio
bitstream. Several synchronous bitstreams can be
regenerated using more COI0S/12. Power requirements 240 V
ac. MP2/34. Sub-units: COI0S/12, COllS/6, PS4/18A.
D & ED 1986.
68 Mbit/s Multiplexing Equipment. The equipment asynchron-
ously multiplexes together digital video and other signals
to form a 68 Mbit/s signal. The input bit rates are: 53.2
Mbit/s, video; 676 kbit/s, (tv) sound; and 8448 kbit/s,
"radio" (for further sound channels and telephony). The
use of a Reed-Solomon error corrector is optional; when it
is not used, two further "auxiliary" 2048 kbit/s signals
may be accommodated. Units from this and associated
demultiplexing equipment CD4M/505 may be combined in
various ways for re-multiplexing applications. PN3/54.
Sub-units CD2/527, UN26/574, GE2/642, UN26/573, UN26/575,
UN26/576, UN26/577, UN26/583 UN26/585. RD 1982.
68 Mbit/s Demultiplexing Equipment. The equipment demulti-
plexes a 68 Mbit/s signal. The output bit rates are: 53.2
Mbit/s, video; 676 kbit/s, (tv) sound; and 8448 kbit/s,
"radio" (for further sound channels and telephony). The
use of a Reed-Soloman error corrector is optional; when it
is not used two further "auxiliary" 2048 kbit/s signals may
be available. Units from this and associated multiplexing
equipment CD4M/504 may be combined in various ways for re-
multiplexing applications. PN3/54. Sub-units CD3/544,
