spaced 200Hz apart in the band 6-l4kHz. For ex ample the
tones could be 6.6kHz and 6.8kHz; 7.6kHz and 7.8kHz etc.,
up to l4.6kHz and l4.8kHz. The 'upper' tone e.g. 7.8kHz
can be used as a carrier and modulated by differential
phase shift keying (dpsk). The' lower' ton e e.g. 7.6kHz

The separate pairs of tone frequencies and programme
bandwidth can be altered by changing the filters (FL4/64A-

to l6.6kHz and l6.8kHz. The equipment can be altered to
accept a different tone pair by changing local oscillators
and programme filter (FL4/65A-L) contained in the DM3/5.
